"You SURE have ability as a composer. Your tunes are -- here's a word we rarely
hear anymore -- catchy, and I'm delighted to have caught them."

-- Peter Filichia, Newark, NJ Star-Ledger, www.theatermania.com

Donna Corleone, charismatic host of family advice radio show Dialing for Donna, and co-owner of Brooklyn station WMFU, is struggling. Despite her quirky, emotionally sound, locally savvy, Italian-tinged, and sometimes comic family advice, she is 40-something and alone in life. Her radio show is not well listened to, her tech crew think they're smarter and hipper than she is (and are more interested in their rock band than their jobs), and station co-owner Rickie wants to sell out to Eternity Broadcasting -- owned by Donna's now-successful but sleazy ex-lover, Jim Bonney.

Meanwhile, idealistic sixteen-year-old Gina Marie Brownlee, adopted daughter of psychologist Rutherford Brownlee, calls the station asking Donna for advice about her relationship with WMFU technician Sam Pinsky. Donna's uncanny on-air bond with the girl starts to help her call-in show's ratings, but will she still have to sell her radio station to save it? What REALLY happened between Donna and Jim all those years ago? Will Rutherford succeed in keeping Sam and Gina apart?  And how about those Sweet Potatoes, the WMFU house band!!

"In the end, it always comes back to a family. Always. And by a family, I mean a group of people who lives by the rules I am telling you about. That's how it is."
-- Donna Corleone, Dialing for Donna, WMFU, 86.4 FM
